The Norwegian Institute at Athens Fund was established by the Bergen Museum Research Fund, Robert and Ella Wentzins Fund and the Research Council of Norway.
The object of the fund is to support research activity that takes place at or is linked to the Norwegian Institute at Athens, in areas of the humanities, the social sciences and other disciplines with a connection to Greece. Emphasis will be placed on the project’s scientific quality, relevance to the Institute as well as networking and recruitment.
For 2018/2019 the board will distribute NOK 20.000,-.

The application must contain the applicants name and address, a project description (no more than one page) and a full budget for the project with information on any other funding. Please enclose copies of relevant diplomas and certificates.
Applicants who are granted funding are expected to give a seminar or similar at the Institute.
Applicants who are not granted funding from The Norwegian Institute at Athens Fund will be considered for the Institute’s travel grant.
Allocation will take place in March/April 2018 and the funds must be put to use within a year of this date. A project report must be submitted within 3 months after the journey.
